5th Trimester Social Meet at the Snug @ The Snug | England | United Kingdom

Once a month we hold a 5th Trimester social at the Snug (and a fortnight later, another social in a different venue in Sheffield)!

This session is held at the Snug.

Please join our group to see where each meet is and which topic is coming up!

What is 5th Trimester? Well, it’s the period of life for a child just after the 4th Trimester!

Babies don’t stop needing loving nurture and closeness once they have passed the early “4th trimester” stage. As they begin to engage with the wider world, they need the familiarity of a responsive caregiver just as much as ever. These caregivers provide a place of security and consistency while little brains are soaking up the world around them; connections are being forged that can set the tone for their future development. This time can be tough for parents, with much of the surrounding dominant culture asking “are you still carrying/feeding/co-sleeping with that baby?” Well, yes, we are 😌

Designed for families who have moved on from our 4th Trimester cycle (bumps to four months) and open to all prewalkers, whether you have been to 4T or not! Running fortnightly, at the Snug and around Sheffield.

This is an unstructured format, just turn up and make friends with your neighbour and encourage each other with the trials of parenting children of this age (and sympathise with the sleep situation!) There will be tea or cold drinks at the Snug meets which are at the end of the month!! Just like 4T, we operate a non-judgemental policy, all parents and caregivers welcome.

A peer supporter will be around in the second half for brief sling support at the Snug sessions but these aren’t sling library drop ins.

Free entry but donations towards the running costs of the Snug and tea etc are most appreciated.

More support can be found in the Virtual Sling Surgery.
