My Baby My Mind

My Baby My Mind, Antenatal Workshop

EVENT NOW FULLY BOOKED

Having a new baby can be wonderful, and terrifying. In this free workshop, we give families-to-be a chance to prepare for their baby's arrival and consider the impact this can have on their mental health. We know that babywearing has helped many families; both as a practical tool for keeping life working, and also as a therapeutic intervention for low mood or anxiety.

Join us as we explore this topic and give you the chance to create a plan for coping with this stage in life, and also learn how to use a sling. We have plenty of demonstration dolls, and a whole sling library of comfortable options to suit everyone.

Space for 16 adults.

Slings can be hired from here if wished, however we expect most people will wish to take advantage of the library service when baby arrives and join our Fourth Trimester free six week cycle.

Sling Social @ The Snug

This is an unstructured format, just turn up and make friends with your neighbour and encourage each other with the trials of parenting children of this age (and sympathise with the sleep situation!) Just like 4T, we operate a non-judgemental policy, all parents and caregivers welcome.

Beginning to Back Carry with a Woven

Introduction to Woven Wraps

Introduction to Woven Wraps is a workshop event at the Snug.

Woven wraps are beautiful and many people wish they could learn how to use them... and we will show you how easy it can be! There is something about the tightening process of the fabric that seems to have a magic calming effect (though there is a lot of neuroscience behind it!)

Long woven wraps are among the most versatile options for carrying children of all ages, from birth to preschool age and beyond. They can be used on the front, back and hip, in single layers or several. We will look at how woven wraps are made, look at some different blends and lengths. We will teach you how to use a long woven wrap in a simple front carry; and how to tighten the wrap effectively for security and comfort.
Objectives
In this session we will start with the basic "FWCC - front wrap cross carry", learning how to make it very comfortable, before moving onto either the Front Cross Carry or the Robin's Hip Carry.

£20 per person, 2hrs long
