Welcome to the library catalogue of the Sheffield Sling Surgery and Library! We are based at the Snug, 71 Leadmill Road, S1 4SE, next door to the Sling Spot shop, which is open daily 10-2pm Mon to Friday, 10-1pm Saturday.

We have a very large lending library (one of the largest in the UK!) and run regular drop in sessions at the Snug, and at monthly branch sessions around Sheffield.

Our experts are here to help either via email, a free ten minute appointment or a more in depth paid for consultation!

Rosie runs the Surgery with her husband Rob and her manager Kiri, and they are supported by a fabulous team of consultants and peer supporter volunteers. We have a strong focus on the importance of carrying, building bonds within the family and fostering a community. We are the home of the well-loved 4th Trimester service for bumps and babies.

The catalogue can be browsed here. The standard slings cost £7.50 per week to hire when the fee or its renewal are paid in advance, £22.50 for four weeks. The daily rate is £1.50. Slings that are renewed or returned after their due date will be charged at the daily rate. A sling can be hired for up to three months continually (to remain compliant with the Consumer Credit Act), after this a new hire must begin.

Slings can be returned to the library drop in sessions or to the Sling Spot shop next door, where you can buy your own carrier!

We also offer fast-track hires by arrangement, and slings can of course be hired from our workshops and consultations. We have a free stretchy/Caboo hire scheme and are linked to the the Building Bonds Project to provide access to carriers for families in need.

If you wish to reserve an item you will need your own MyTurn account. If you do not have one you can create an account here. Once logged in you can select the item you wish to hire, input collection and return dates and then submit. We will check the availability of the item and email updates to you when approved.
