Beginning to Back Carry with a Woven Wrap

Learn how to get your baby safely onto your back with a long woven wrap and a simple rucksack carry.

We shall learn with dolls first and then your babies. We will usually practice a few methods of how to get your baby on your back safely in the wrap and you can try with your own child when you feel happy. If we have enough time, we may also demonstrate more complex carries such as the double hammock.

Suitable for those who are confident with using a woven wrap on the front, and babies of 12 weeks upwards.

If you have a younger baby and wish to learn back carries with them in a woven wrap, a 1-2-1 may be more suitable.

Objectives

We will show you plenty of tips and tricks to make them especially comfortable and we can show you how to feed in them too. Learn how to do a facing out carry with a ring sling (when baby is 4months plus) too!

Parking / transport

There is plenty of on street parking (£1/hr, £5/day) and the Q park is just round the corner by the train station. There is good public transport too (train station, bus interchange are less than 5mins walk), Granville Road tram stop is nearby and the city centre is a stone’s throw away.

Additional information

All wraps will be provided, and can be hired from the workshop, however you are also most welcome to bring your own! Suitable for babies and children from 2 weeks upwards, toddlers welcome. Space for 10 people. £20 per person, 2hrs long.
